Social Effects of Alcohol
Alcohol will not only physically harm your body; it can also affect you with
your social life. Unlike physical effects, most of the effects on the social
side of alcohol are mostly short term. This report will demonstrate what happens
with peers and others and your life when you drink. This also includes the harm
that gets done to yourself if you drink too much.
What would happen if you and your mates maybe drank too much in a pub? You might not think this would happen, but alcohol does make your mood more aggressive, so if you bumped into one of your friends and they've drank too much, they could try to harm you. If that happens and a fight breaks out, there could be consequences. This includes possibly losing that friend, and damaging your reputation with other things. Another thing that could happen if you do have a bad history with alcohol is that you could also ruin the chance of finding a job as well. Although there aren't as much effects socially to do with alcohol compared to other, they are all very punishing towards your life. This includes poor performance at work after a big night out. You could feel tired, stressed, and you might not be bothered to work at all. A bad day at work because of alcohol can lose your job, which is a big blow to your financial life.
Peers can also be affected by the effects of drinking alcohol. As said before, aggressive behaviour with friends can lead to losing friends and damaging your reputation for others. The social effects, however, can be good as well as bad. Alcohol can help you fit in with a group of peers and give you confidence, but, if you do drink to much then the good effects will start turning bad. If you drink regularly everyday, this could have a bad effect as well, as they might not trust being with you. Alcohol is a very harsh drug if not used properly, because socially, people will start to lose trust for you if you do not control your drinking.
Overall, the social effects of alcohol are not very fun or great in the end. Just drinking too much of it can be quite punishing, especially if you have work the day after or you start being aggressive towards friends. Alcohol may be looked down on in a few of these reports but these effects are true and they are very punishing. It isn't all bad if you drink the right amount though, as it is the amount you drink that can change whether the effects can harm your life and your body or not. If you drink just a safe amount alcohol can actually be enjoyed, and you can still hang around with your friends without getting aggressive and being hurt. Altogether, these effects are negative, but you can still drink to have fun and stay healthy.
